eSIM Troubleshooting

What does “Invalid Activation Code” mean?

This error can occur if:
The QR code provided by your carrier is unclear, partially obscured, or blurry.
Your device’s camera is malfunctioning, preventing the QR code from being scanned.
To troubleshoot this:
Check your camera: Ensure your device’s camera is functioning correctly. If the camera is malfunctioning, you may need to try installing the eSIM manually (instructions for manual installation should be provided by your carrier).
Contact support: If the problem persists, contact us for further assistance.

What does “Data Plan Cannot Be Added” mean?

This error usually means the QR code’s unique activation code has already been used. This could be because the eSIM profile has already been added to your device, another device, or both.
To check if the eSIM is already installed:
iPhone: Go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Plans.
Android: Go to Settings > Connections > SIM card manager (the exact location of the SIM card manager may vary slightly depending on your Android device and version).
If you still need assistance, contact ChinaeSIM for further support.

What does “Cellular Plans from This Carrier Cannot Be Added” mean?

This issue usually means your phone is either a CDMA device or is locked to its original carrier.
Before purchasing a phone, verify its network compatibility (GSM/CDMA) and carrier lock status. You can check your phone’s IMEI number using these websites:
imeipro.info
imeicheck.com
imei.info
To find your 15-digit IMEI number, dial *#06#. Then, use one of the websites above to check if your IMEI is locked to a carrier.
If your phone is locked, you’ll need to contact your carrier to request an unlock. eSIMs can only be activated on unlocked phones; therefore, you may need a different device if your current phone cannot be unlocked.

What does “Unable to Complete Cellular Plan Change” mean?

This error may occur due to the following reasons:
Too many eSIMs: Your device may have reached its maximum number of installed eSIM profiles.
– Duplicate eSIM profile: The eSIM profile you’re trying to install may already exist on your device or another device.
– Poor internet connection: An unstable Wi-Fi or cellular data connection can prevent successful eSIM installation.
To resolve this issue, try the following:
Check eSIM capacity: Determine your device’s maximum number of supported eSIMs. If you’ve reached the limit, remove one or more existing eSIM profiles. Instructions for removing eSIMs can be found here:
iPhone
Samsung
Google Pixel
Check for existing profiles: Verify if the eSIM profile is already installed.
+ iOS: Go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Plans.
+ Android: Access your device’s SIM Card Manager (the exact location may vary depending on your device and Android version).
– Ensure a stable internet connection: Make sure you have a strong and stable internet connection before attempting to install the eSIM again.
